Staff working 20 hrs per week are eligible to
participate in our benefits program. The commissioners review the benefit
program yearly and provide a set amount to be paid on the employee's medical
premium. A full-time employee is one who works 30 or more hours a week, those working 20-29 hours per week
are part-time and those working less than 20 hours a week are supplemental
and are not eligible for benefits. Employees
may add other dependents, his or her spouse and children. Our current benefit

There are seven paid holidays for full-time
employees: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas and one floating holiday.
Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued on the hours an
employee works. The more years an employee works for Odessa Memorial
Healthcare Center, the higher accrual they will earn.
Employees may request up to 40 hours of PTO to
be paid out once a year. Otherwise, employees are encouraged to take their
accrued PTO as true vacation and holiday hours. Those employees who have
worked at the center for 10 years or longer may request up to 80 hours of paid
PTO each year.
Extended Illness Bank (EIB) hours are earned
beginning the first day of employment. These hours
can be used only for an employee's extended illness, injury or the extended
illness or injury of an employee's eligible family members.
Employees are requires to use accrued EIB and
PTO hours when on designated Family and Medical Leave according to our policy.
Employees on time loss workmen's compensation are placed on FMLA leave, if they
otherwise qualify to run concurrently with their time loss benefits.
Jury Duty
Employees are allowed to use PTO hours if chosen
for jury duty. They may also choose to accept payment from the court,
however, employees cannot receive money from the court and OMHC.
Leaves of Absence
Besides FMLA and on the job injury, employees
are granted three days bereavement leave from their EIB hours in the even of
death of the person's mother, father, husband, wife, child, sister, brother,
stepparent or stepchild. If the employee is already on leave, this benefit
is not paid. In addition leaves are granted for military service.
Personal leaves and educational leaves may be granted on a case by case basis
with approval by the administrator.
